Tin Drum has earned its envious reputation with journalists because we deliver solid information to the right people at the right time. We don’t care for PR stunts that blow budgets but not minds.
Our editorial experience has made us very wary of wasting journalist’s time. We always get straight to the point, and only communicate to relevant media. The media reciprocate by covering our stories, because we deliver everything they might need to do that.
For our clients, this means their message is received with interest and not set aside with the cookie cutter press releases. It means more coverage, and goodwill from the people that count, and more exposure for your products.
Our centrally located office lets us be at the door of any London based journalist within the hour. If a review is going wrong, or a last minute submission to a feature is needed, we can save the day in under an hour.
Our philosophy of no BS in our communications stems from our editorial background. Nobody has a better BS detector than a journalist, and when they smell it, it becomes the theme of the coverage.
That’s not to say we don’t frame things in the best possible light. Products will always have good features balanced with weaknesses; it’s a trade off. Our job is to accentuate the positive, and explain the reasons where products are found lacking.
If a product is heavy, it might be because weight was traded for better battery life. So we explain that, we don’t pretend it’s not heavy.
Honesty and straight-talking is appreciated by journalists, and will gain you and your products more goodwill than any PR flim-flam.
